Autumn & Winter Ride Schedule 2017/18

Autumn & Winter Ride Schedule 2017/18

With another summer racing season coming to an end and nights drawing in, for many it is a time of recuperation, reflection and enjoying riding the bike in a social setting again.  To align with such desires, Revo Racing will be organising a series of five social/training rides over the course of the autumn and winter.

These rides will be steady-paced, approximately 50 miles in length, and with riders regrouping at the top of all climbs.  No rider will be left behind.  These rides are designed primarily for active club members, however non-members are welcome to come for a ride (or two) before being asked […] Read more

Margaret Baker Memorial – Four Firs TT

Margaret Baker Memorial – Four Firs TT

A beautiful, but rather chilly morning in late March saw the running of another Four Firs Time Trial, run by Exeter Wheelers.  The 14 mile sporting loop is a local favourite, starting near Topsham, climbing up through Woodbury to the common, then heading back on a long fast descent past Westpoint to the finish.

This year Revo Racing were well represented with Sue Williams, Reuben Heal, Tim Heal, Matt Slater and Martyn Leach amongst the starting line up.

Earlier forecasts of gusting easterly winds across the common of 25 mph thankfully didn’t quite materialise, so the race proceeded in relatively good conditions.

Glory at the South West 10 mile TT Championships

Glory at the South West 10 mile TT Championships

A cool and blustery Sunday morning in Sourton on the edge of Dartmoor was the setting for another 10 mile Time Trial run by Tavistock Wheelers.  This time however, the stakes were raised as it was also the 10 mile South West District Championships, with riders battling to be crowned the regional champion.

As the results were announced, it was clear that the race was one of the closest of the season, with the top three riders separated by just one second.

Joint first place went to Revo Racing’s Liam Bard and Matt Slater, with an equal time of 20:43.  Third place was taken […] Read more

Revo riders return to Buckfastleigh

A pleasant Sunday morning in late July saw the running of another 25 mile Time Trial at Buckfastleigh, Devon.  The event, run by Mid-Devon Cycling Club, was well attended with 64 competitors lining up to start the out-and-back course on the A38 Dual Carriageway.

The race was won by Mid Devon CC’s Conrad Moss in a time of 49:37, yielding an average speed in excess of 30 mph and just shy of his own course record.  Taking second and third spots were MDCC espoir rider Matt Langworthy (50:15) and Gary Chambers (50:30) from Farewham Wheelers.  Revo Racing were well represented in the top half of the result […] Read more

Success at the National TTT Championships

Success at the National TTT Championships

A glorious sunny day in Devon saw the running of the 2016 National Team Time Trial Championships, hosted by Mid-Devon Cycling Club on behalf of Cycling Time Trials (CTT).  The course was a challenging 32-miles of hilly Devon countryside.

Several top teams from around the country descended on Hatherleigh in an attempt to lay claim to the national title.  Local teams were also well represented this year, with Devon and Cornwall clubs rubbing shoulders with the best in the business.

Pedal Heaven took the men’s title – Lloyd Chapman, Joseph Fry and Max Steadman with a time of 1:07.40.
